Something you should never do is expose your HDD to the elements… I did it just for this video and then put the cover right back on.

    I would say after 6 months this info is useless to you but apparently you cant just swap the logic boards as they hold information unique to that particular hard disk.

    So wouldnt recomend, but I would still try and see for myself anyway ;)
    How did you go with the fix?

    I would love my harddrive ro hold 1.3 terabytes. Just more storage (:>

    hi sir , my I tried to reformat my HDD using the cd/dvd Toshiba recovery disk to delete all the files on HDD and its not responding anymore…so I cant even go to the selection of the cd. it just freezes on black screen and a mouse pointer…my sister had a HDD but different thingy ? socket? whatever it is mine does have 2 to connect to my laptop and her from her laptop does only 1 so what should I do? I dunno what to do. could someone tell me what should i do… thx

    do you recommend buying the exact hard drive and swapping out the board?

    the disk and heads are ok…this is a chip board problem…this is located on the bottom of the drive.
